I went to Neston Flower Club yesterday to see a demonstration by Welsh florist/arranger Keith Smithies. He is an excellent demonstrator and I do like his style and type of arranging. also, he is an interesting speaker because he is also an expert gardener and I like to hear what he has to say about the plants and flowers Yesterday, he recommended that we keep daffs and narcissi and other ‘sappy’ flowers out of water for at least a day. I tend to put them in water and rinse them a few times to remove the sap, and leave it for a day before putting with other flowers, but I think I will do as he suggests from now on – much easier.
