Grow your own flowers for the home with Chris Davies. Learn how to plan and plant flowers for blooms throughout the year. We have been growing flowers at Fieldcrest for cutting for over 15 years, and love to use our own fresh and natural looking flowers in our home and to share with others.

In this course we will cover everything you need to know about growing and using the flowers from your own cutting garden.

  • Date: Saturday 27th July 2019

This course is suitable for all skill levels and is divided into three sessions, with a tea break and lunch included

Topics covered include:

  • How to plan a cutting patch and grow flowers throughout the year
  • How to pick, condition and choose flower combinations
  • Cut and arrange your own flowers to fill a vase or jam-jar to take home

Please bring scissors, preferably floristry scissors, to the class if possible. We will be outside in the cutting garden during the session so please come prepared!

“I really enjoyed the course. You’ve inspired me to do my own cut flower area next year. Thanks also for the great handout.”

“ We had a wonderful day with Chris at her garden in glorious weather. The course was very informative and Chris is super knowledgeable but explained things really well at the right level for our expertise. Her handouts were also really well set out and she followed up after the session with further information. We were treated to a delicious lunch with homemade bread and then into the garden for some fun. We spent time with Chris cutting flowers and then we made up jugs of flowers guided by her expert eye. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I will definitely be back for more…” Trine, October 2017

“Thanks for… a great course last Saturday. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day at Fieldcrest Garden discovering a wealth of plants to grow for the home and tips on arranging them. Chris gave us an excellent handout full of lists of plants to grow, then took us on a tour of her wonderful cutting garden. After a lovely lunch we were able to choose our own flowers. I came home with two lovely arrangements and brimming full of ideas of plants to grow in my own garden.” Yvonne Morgan, August 2018
